Chris will be talking to us about Thoresby Colliery, the last pit in Nottinghamshire, which closed in July 2015, bringing to an end over 900 years of mining in the county. This presentation tells the story of how the project came about, how it was shot and the resulting exhibition, book and extensive publicity. A great example of “how to shoot a project”. His goal is to inspire, educate and entertain us with his images and his love of talking about his passion for photography. His presentation style is informal and engaging and he is known for sharing ideas, techniques, hints, tips and advice. He is an Associate of The Royal Photographic Society and an official Fujifilm ambassador. Chris gained second place in the mono category of the RPS Documentary Photographer of the Year in 2017. His photographs were shown as part of the RPS exhibition in the Horsham Museum. |
